Bald Knob, Ark. — A 64-year-old West Plain, Mo., died after a motorcycle accident near Bald Knob in White County late Monday afternoon.
Billy R. Leatherwood, 63, of West Plains was driving his ’03 Harley motorcycle north on Hwy. 167, when a ’02 Ford F150 pickup truck was making a left turn on to Hwy. 367 and failed to yield at 5:29 p.m. Monday, according to Arkansas State Police.
Leatherwood and his passenger and wife, Cathy Leatherwood of West Plains, were taken to White County Medical Center in Searcy. He was pronounced dead.
The weather was clear and the road was dry, police said.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Amvets Post 98 in West Plains. Preceding the service will be a Kick Stands Up and memorial ride through town; members will gather starting at 1:30 p.m. Leatherwood had been Amvets state president and was a member of the Amvets Riders.
Robertson-Drago Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
