Maggie Valley, N.C. — Hillbilly Woodstock 2014 drew a record crowd recently to Maggie Valley, North Carolina.
Thousands of music lovers gathered to celebrate Appalachian culture and meet moonshiners and celebrities from the TV series “Lizard Lick Towing,” “Moonshiners” and “Appalachian Outlaws.”

Where there are moonshiners, there are bound to be police officers checking things out. James Hatfield (left), a descendant of the famed Hatfields and McCoys, was questioned about a moonshine still that he and his business partner, Shane McCoy, were displaying. They were permitted to keep it out in the open, as long as it was not assembled.
