Ozark County, Mo. — A 55-year-old West Plains, Mo., died Wednesday night after his motorcycle struck a pickup truck head-on on Hwy. 160, 2 miles west of Caulfield in Ozark County.
Missouri State Highway Patrol said Charles B. Barrett Jr., 55, was driving his ’99 Harley-Davidson XL1200S west on Hwy. 160, failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line and struck the eastbound ’99 Dodge Ram pickup driven by DeWayne L. Williams, 47, of Caulfield at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Ozark Medical Center (OMC), where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Loveland at 6:58 p.m. From there he was taken to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains.
Graveside services for Charles Benjamin “Benny” Barrett, Jr., will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at South Fork Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago.
