Thayer, Mo. — Want to win a free turkey for Thanksgiving? Want to help feed those who have no place to go on Thanksgiving Day? Well, just donate a canned good before Tuesday, Nov. 25 at A&A Loans, located in the Harp’s shopping center on the corner of U.S. Hwy. 63 and Hwy. 142 East and you can qualify to win a free turkey and a pat on the back for caring about those without a Thanksgiving meal to eat.
A&A Loans is open Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Monday and Fridays when they are open ’til 6 p.m.
Canned goods are donated to help cook meals sponsored by Hands of Hope Kitchen who will cook and deliver meals free of charge to anyone who asks for one. Deliveries are to Thayer, and Koshkonong, Mo., and Mammoth Spring, Ark., and will start at 9:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.
In order to receive a Thanksgiving Dinner all you have to do is call Beverly Rogers at (417) 280-5008. Meals are for people who don’t have anywhere to go or have someone to spend Thanksgiving dinner with. There are no income guidelines to be on the delivery list.
Last year the Hands of Hope Kitchen delivered 400 meals to people in this area.
The meals are prepared at the fellowship hall in the Assembly of God Church in Thayer.
This is a part of the Hands of Hope Kitchen a program that delivers food to people in the area.
The free turkey is donated by Wilma Smith of Town & Country grocery store in Thayer. Winner of the turkey will be announced on Tuesday and given a certificate for the turkey.
Right now they don’t have any cranberry sauce, folks.
It takes a lot of food to feed 400 people — Let’s give Hands of Hope a helping hand.
