Tyrone, MO — The shooter in the killing of seven persons Thursday night in the unincorporated area of Tyrone, in Texas County, Mo., has been identified as Joseph Jesse Aldridge, 36, of Tyrone.
The shooter, who was found dead in Shannon County from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, was the son of Alice Aldridge, 74, of Tyrone, who appeared to have died some time before the shooting. Although her cause of death appears to be of natural causes, a post mortem examination will be performed Saturday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Friday afternoon made available the names of four of the seven victims. They are: Garold Dee Aldridge, 52; Julie Ann Aldridge, 47; Harold Wayne Aldridge, 50; and Janell Arlisa Aldridge, 48.
Joseph Jesse Aldridge is believed to be a cousin of the four victims identified so far. A motive for the killings has yet to be determined. All of the victims’ residences are located within a three-mile radius in Tyrone.
The names of the other three victims were announced by the sheriff Saturday. They are: Darrell Dean Shriver, 68; Carey Dean Shriver, 46; and Valirea Love Shriver, 44. Carey and Valirea were husband and wife; Darrell is Carey’s father.
