Perry A. Boore

A celebration of life for Perry A. Boore of Oakland, Ark., will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Twin Lakes Baptist Church, 2645 U.S. 62, Mountain Home, with Rev. Kenneth Taglauer officiating.
Perry passed away March 2, 2015, in Mountain Home, Ark. at the age of 82, after battling burn injuries suffered while rescuing dogs from a Feb. 4 fire at his home.
Perry and his wife Carol began Perry’s Orphan Sanctuary in 1987 devoting his life to rescuing abused, neglected and unwanted animals.
Perry was born March 17, 1932, in West Mineral, Kansas, the son of Carl and Florence Goff Boore. He married Carol Kromphandt on Jan. 17, 1955, in Springfield, Ill., and graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in business. Perry worked as a plant manager for Boise-Cascade for many years and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He lived in Oakland, Ark., since 1982, moving from Illinois.
Perry is survived by his two daughters, Deborah J. Duran of Phoenix, AZ and Carla J. Colby of Washington D.C.; two sisters, Joyce A. Woods and Janice Maryman; four grandchildren, Faith Hardenbrook, Alexa Colby, Heather Jones, Andrea Barnes; four great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Dover, Tyler Jones, Zachery Jones and Mackenzie Jones and four nephews, Kevin Woods, Kurtis Woods, Jana Maryman and Jamie Maryman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and one brother, Carl J. Boore, Jr.
Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and U.S. Army Honor Guards.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Mountain Home.
