Mammoth Spring, Ark. — The eighth annual Dutch Oven Cook Off held at the Mammoth Spring State Park will fire up at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4.
Dutch Oven chefs come in usually from Arkansas and Missouri for the competition which awards cash prizes.
Cookers dish up a main dish, a dessert and bread on which they are judged. Judging is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Spectators are able to buy sampling cups to get a bite of the dishes after they are judged. The State Park also offers beans, cornbread and cobblers for purchase.
The Cook Off competitors come in in teams of two or three dressed in period costume, and their set ups are part of their presentation.
The Cook Off is free to the public. Competitors pay a $20 registration fee.
