There will be sack races and games for the kids.
There will be a pie and baked goods auction with proceeds going to the co-op’s culture hub and building project. The co-op is in the process of purchasing the Leon’s Bar building next door and remodeling it for use as a multi-function community center.
The co-op shop will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and otherwise is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Co-op Youth Council launches its Summer Outdoor Movie Series next Thursday, May 28, at Tucker Creek Walking Park, 4 Tucker Creek Road. Providing music at 6 p.m. before the movie will be the Ozark Highballers. “Strange Magic” is the movie. The movie starts at dusk. Admission is free. Full concessions will be available. Donations are appreciated. A new screen has been provided by Shepherd’s View and Shepherd’s Treehouse.
Movies also will be offered June 26, July 31 and Aug. 28.
Upcoming co-op workshops in the Natural Homemaking series taught by Jenny Raith are: June 13 “Healthy Dinners in the Slow Cooker,” June 20 “Natural Cleaning,” and June 27 “Breakfast from the Freezer.” Yoga classes will be offered in July.
Also, Saturday, May 23 in Alton author Bill Combs, who grew up in the Alton area in the ’40’s and ’50’s, will be selling and signing his book Oregon County Growing Up at Annie’s Flower Shop from 10 a.m. ’til 1 p.m.
Then, during the Alton Homecoming, Combs will have a book signing session from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Alton School complex.
