West Plains “Wall of Fame” mural featuring Bill Virdon, Preacher Roe, Jan Howard, Dick Van Dyke and Porter Wagoner (Hill ’n Holler staff photo)

West Plains, Mo. — A West Plains “Wall of Fame” mural, painted by local artist Michael McClure, was officially presented May 13 at the Ozark Heritage Welcome Center, just north of the fairgrounds on Porter Wagoner Blvd.
Honored in the mural are baseball players Bill Virdon and Preacher Roe, actor Dick Van Dyke, and country music stars Jan Howard and Porter Wagoner.
Present at the unveiling May 13 were Howard and Virdon. Also present were Porter’s children Denise, Debra and Richard, and Roe’s son Tom, along with the artist.
