Tatterdemalion coverBreakThrough logoWest Plains, Mo. — BreakThrough Casting has issued a casting call for a young boy age 5 to 10 to play the lead in Tatterdemalion, a film Laundry Films of Los Angeles is getting ready to shoot in the Ozarks.
An open audition will be held Monday, June 15, at Attitude Dance Studio, 1200 Porter Wagoner Blvd in West Plains. Audition hours are from 3 to 7 p.m.
Casting director Dana Lockhart says they are looking for authenticity, and no experience is required for the role. A description of the role goes like this: “a wounded soul, but even with all the bad that has happened to him he is full of heart and love and fight. It seems that he has appeared in the present from another century. Ethereal precocious. A thin, pale waif lead character.”
This is a paid role and one of the leads in the movie.
The movie has already held one audition in West Plains, and several in Branson.
Shooting dates are set for June 22 through July 25. The film will be directed by Ramaa Mosley of Los Angeles. Mosley has directed documentaries, TV commercials, videos, and her debut feature film was “The Brass Teapot” in 2013.
