Edgar Springs, Mo. — A Houston, Mo., man and woman were killed Monday afternoon in a multiple rollover accident on U.S. Highway 63 one mile south of here in Phelps County.
Missouri State Highway Patrol said Wesley E. Thompson, 59, and Elizabeth A. Thompson, 58, were killed when their southbound ’99 Ford Ranger ran off the right side of the road, returned, crossed the center line went into a skid hit a northbound ’11 Dodge Ram then went off the left side of the road overturned came back on the road overturned again went off the left side of the road again and came to rest at 4:15 p.m. Monday, July 27.
Elizabeth Thompson was the driver, and Wesley was her passenger.
The driver of the northbound Dodge Ram, Tammy S. Strickland, 46, of Licking, Mo., and her passenger Sarah A. Strickland, 23, of Licking were reported uninjured in the collision.
The Highway Patrol was assisted by the Phelps County and Texas County EMS and the Edgar Springs Fire Department.
The Highway Patrol said both the driver and passenger of the Ranger were pronounced dead at 5:17 p.m. by Dr. Louise Wilkenson, emergency medicine physician at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
The victims were transported to Evans Funeral Home in Houston.
