Callaway County Mo. — Four young women — three teenagers — were killed here Saturday night in a fiery head-on collision on U.S. Highway 54, one mile west of Center Street.
Missouri State Highway Patrol said the driver of a ’97 Buick LeSabre, Miriah C. McDaniel, 17, and her two passengers, Meggan Fowler, 13, and Elizabeth K. Moses, 17, all of Holts Summit, Mo., were killed.
Patrol said the driver of a ’15 Nissan Pathfinder, Kathryn A. Zavoral, 27, of Jefferson City, Mo also died in the crash.
The collision occurred when the LeSabre, eastbound in the passing lane, was hit head-on by the Pathfinder, westbound in the eastbound passing lane. The LeSabre overturned, partially ejecting the driver and caught on fire, according to patrol report.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene by Boone County Medical Examiner Dori Burke. All were transported to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s office.
