Tunas, Mo., man and two stepdaughters killed in two-car collision on U.S. 54
Camden County, Mo. — A 35-year-old Tunas, Mo., man and his two stepdaughters were killed in a head-on collision on U.S. 54 east of Ball Park Road here late Monday afternoon.
Missouri State Highway Patrol said Robert J. Kroll and his two stepdaughters, Miley Howard, 7, and Hailey M. Loyd, 5, both of Macks Creek, Mo., were killed when Kroll drove his ’93 Chevy S-10 across the center line and collided head-on with a ’11 Chevy Avalanche driven by Dennis D. Lewsader, 58, of Camden. The accident occurred at 5:12 p.m., according to the Highway Patrol.
Lewsader is reported to have suffered moderate injury and was taken Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
Police said Kroll and Howard were pronounced at the scene by Camden County Medical Examiner Stephanie Dominique. The 5-year-old was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, where she was pronounced dead by hospital staff.
A memorial service for all three will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Hedges Scott Funeral Home, 1270 S. Business Hwy 5, Camdenton, Mo. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m.
59-year-old Malvern, Ark., man killed riding a mower on Ridge Road
Hot Springs County, Ark. — A 59-year-old Malvern, Ark., man was killed Monday evening when the Craftsman mower he was riding was struck in the back and he was thrown from his vehicle.
Arkansas State Police said Lloyd Hulsey was southbound on his mower on Ridge Road near the intersection of Cloud Street when the accident occurred.
Police said the mower had no visible tail lights and was struck in the rear by a ’13 Nissan Altima driven by John R. Parker, 82, of Malvern. Police said the mower left the road after being hit. The accident occurred at 7:15 p.m., police said.
Police said the body was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in Malvern and held there.
