Red Wolves 1Jonesboro, Ark. — After defeating the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns 37-27 Oct. 20 in Jonesboro, the Arkansas State University (ASU) Red Wolves football team are now 4-3 overall and have off Saturday, Oct. 24.
However, big plans have been made for game day, Oct. 31, Halloween, when the Red Wolves meet the Georgia State Panthers in Jonesboro.
The Panthers are 2-4 after defeating the Ball State Cardinals 31-19 Oct. 17 in Muncie, Ind. The Panthers also have this weekend off.
Oct 31 will be Howl-O-Ween at Centennial Stadium, and ASU has billed it as “the largest costume party in Arkansas!” (Those not in costume are encouraged to wear black.)
The A-State football team will be throwing out candy at Red Wolf Walk beginning at approximately 3:45.
Fans are encouraged to bring candy to their tailgates to hand out to trick or treater, and Hays Tailgate Town will have even more safe trick or treat opportunities for kids, who will receive special prizes for collecting the most candy. Also, the concession stands will offer special Halloween themed items
There will be a pre-game costumed march around the field.
The Sound of the Natural State band will be playing in costume.
There will be costume contests and Halloween promotions all game long.
The night also will feature a postgame autograph and “meet the team” session on the field, as well as a recognition of the 1975 undefeated Arkansas State football team and 2015 A-State Athletics Hall of Honor inductees.
