The country group won two Grammys: one for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and one for Best Country Song. “Girl Crush” won for them in both categories. “Girl Crush” also was nominated for Song of the Year, and the group’s album “Pain Killer” was nominated for Best Country Album. Their song “Pontoon” won a Grammy in 2013.
Sweet is an original member of the country singing group which has been together since l998. Other members of the group are: Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook.
Grammys for Best Country Album and Country Solo performance were taken by Chris Stapleton’s “Traveller.” Buddy Guy won Best Blues Album for “Born to Play Guitar.
Album of the Year was Taylor Swift’s “1989.” Record of the Year was “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson with Bruno Mars. Song of the Year was “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran and Amy Wadge.

Little Big Town won the Country Music Association (CMA) Award for best vocal group of the year in 2012, 2014 and 2015. Invited by Reba McEntire, they were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in October 2014.
Some of their songs include “Boondocks,” co-written by all four members but based at least partially on Sweet’s experiences as a youth, that came out in ’05, “Day Drinking” and “Your Side of the Bed.”
Sweet has performed locally with his mother Bonnie Sweet, who has also performed at the George D. Hay Country Music Hall in Mammoth Spring, Ark.
