Paris, France — French sources have revealed that the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has received several threats of violent attack this month.
The staff of Charlie Hebdo was almost wiped out last year by a radical Islamic attack when terrorists walked into their staff meeting and gunned down 12 staff members including star cartoonists and the editor. Hebdo refused to roll over and die and published a retaliatory edition mocking their terrorist killers.
Now it seems their cowardly critics are after them again. Only this time they are issuing warnings — on social media and notes delivered to the Charlie Hebdo office.
Remember, the pen is mightier than the sword only if the hand that holds the pen lives in a free society where freedom of speech is the rule no matter how annoying or disruptive the writer’s message may be to the status quo.
