Lawrence County, Ark. — A 77-year-old Thayer, Mo., man was killed early Saturday, Sept. 21, when he lost control of his car, left the roadway, struck a tree and was ejected from his car, according to Arkansas State Police.
Ernest R. Franke, 77, of Thayer was driving his ’98 Lincoln northbound on Hwy. 63, nprth of Imboden, Ark., in Lawrence County, when the accident occurred at 2:08 a.m. Saturday. Police said it was raining and the roadway was wet at the time.
He was transferred Sunday to Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.
He had been a civil engineer and was a licensed land surveyor.
He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Thayer.
A funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer with Pastor Pam Ekey officiating. Burial was in Thayer Cemetery.
